The first results of the Feasibility Report considering the potential of replacing the Hammersmith A4 Flyover with a Tunnel has been published by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.The report shows that the Hammersmith Flyunder could be built in three years at a cost of £1.7bn.
“Boris Johnson has said he backs the idea of a “flyunder” and his advisers are believed to have had exploratory talks with council officials. ” – Evening Standard 12th February 2014 Simone de Gale Architects as part of West London Link Design initiated the idea of a replacement tunnel, which gathered interest from the public of which a H&F council poll found that 89 per cent of residents support the idea of a “flyunder” and spurred the commission for the Feasibility Study.
